Holy Eucharist with Confirmation

The Right Reverend Jennifer Brooke-Davidson, Assistant Bishop of North Carolina, will preach and preside over confirmation during this special worship service which includes scripture, prayers, a sermon, communion, music, and confirmation. Confirmation is the rite in which candidates make a mature public reaffirmation of their faith and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.

We’re delighted to welcome guest violinist, Evan Few, to this service. A renowned early music specialist, Evan will offer musical voluntaries and play during communion. He performs internationally with ensembles such as Anima Eterna Brugge, Bach Collegium Japan, and the Taverner Consort. He is a core member of Apollo’s Fire and the Carmel Bach Festival; serves as co-concertmaster and Artistic Administrator of the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra; collaborates frequently with Chatham Baroque and Four Nations Ensemble; and is a co-founder of Filament. Evan is also featured this week in the Bach Charlotte Festival. His parents, Joe and Pronda Few, are members of Christ Church, where Joe sings in the choir as a section leader.

Join us for this inspiring service filled with blessings, reflections, and the support of our church community.
