Hush In the Rush
Come slow down with us this Advent. During Hush in the Rush, we invite you to choose one or more activities that will remind you to stop, breathe, and wait. There are options for parishioners of all ages! We look forward to finding peace with you during this holiday season. Registration is not required.
Children’s Activities (Blue Room) Children will gather for an engaging journey into the shepherds’ perspective on the birth of Jesus. This offering includes storytelling, creative crafts, and fun games for an engaging experience. (Parents are not required to attend with their child(ren) but should remain on site.)
Prayer Stations (All Saints’ Hall) Come to All Saints’ Hall for prayer and reflection around five Advent prayer stations, including imagining ourselves in the Nativity story, candle lighting, creating a Christmas icon, journaling, and prayers in the Manger. This will be a self-directed time of solitude and intention.
Prayer of Examen (Youth Room) Prayer of Examen is a daily spiritual practice that invites us to review our day in loving kindness to notice where we see God moving in our lives so we can build a foundation of trust. Join us as we learn more about the Examen and how to write our own Examen that helps us notice the presence of God in our busy lives. This offering will be led by Youth Council members.
Holiday Fellowship (GoodNews Cafe) Join other parishioners in the GoodNews Café as we pause to get to know one another better. Light refreshments will be served.
Letter-Writing (Green Room) The Outreach Team will lead participants in writing letters of encouragement and holiday wishes to Rama Road teachers and our neighbors experiencing incarceration. Writers can choose to write to one or each. Suggestions for letter content and blank cards will be provided, as well as crayons and blank paper for our youngest writers.
