Music & Arts

Music and art are creative expressions of our faith.

We welcome all who wish to share their musical gifts and talents.

Adults

Christ Church Choir

Rehearsals: Thursdays, 7 – 9 pm
Services: Sundays at 8:45 & 11:15 am (Holy Eucharist in the Church)

The Christ Church Choir comprises singers from all walks of life who share a common dedication to extraordinary music-making and to the role of choral singing within the Episcopal liturgy. Repertoire covers a wide range of styles and languages from our classical choral heritage. The choir is directed by Ben Outen. We welcome singers with choral experience and vocal confidence.

Schola Cantorum

Rehearsals: Thursdays, 7 – 9 pm
Services: Sundays at 8:45 & 11:15 am (Holy Eucharist in the Church)
Individuals serve as cantors for the weekly 5 pm Eucharist.

The Christ Church Schola Cantorum consists of 8—12 vocalists and provides choral music on its own for worship and special events. Also, Schola members serve as Section Leaders alongside the volunteers of the Christ Church Choir. These singers may be seen throughout our city as they are leaders in other choral ensembles, in opera and theatre groups, and in academic and other liturgical settings. Audition is necessary.

Parish Choir

Third Sundays Monthly

Love to sing but short on time? Parish Choir is a once-a-month opportunity to sing with the choir during the 8:45 am worship service, without the weekly time commitment. No choir experience necessary—the music is chosen for the broadest range of musical experience. You can opt to join us on the third Sunday of most months, with a required rehearsal the Wednesday prior. Contact Ben Outen to learn more and sign up.

To learn more or join any of these groups, please contact Ben Outen.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.

– Psalm 100:2

Contemporary and Discovery Worship Team

Sundays, 7:30 am to 12 noon
Weekly, September – May
All Saints’ Hall
Our Contemporary and Discovery Worship Team, led by Charles Milling, is a rotating family of contemporary musicians, singers and AV technicians who share a common heart for leading transformational worship in our community. Sundays in All Saints’ Hall are warm, friendly, and outgoing, and these traits are a must for each member of this team. Is this you? We hope so! Please reach out to Charles any time for a chat.

Each week there are 7 – 15 songs to learn at home, arriving with them perfected by 7:30 am Sunday morning. It is a big, but rewarding, commitment! Charles arranges the music to reflect a wide “welcome” to all people. It is not “Contemporary Christian,” but rather, cross-cultural, cross-genre, ancient, and modern. Band positions include (but are not limited to): singers, keyboardists, drummers, percussionists, bassists, guitarists, other stringed instruments such as mandolin, horns such as trumpet, saxophone, and trombone, etc. AV positions include: projection operator, sound engineer, livestream mix engineer.

Weekly Schedule, September – May

  • Wednesday – Saturday: Learn music at home on your own (7 – 15 songs)
  • Sunday: 7:30 am Sound check and run-through
  • Sunday: 8:45 am Contemporary Service*
  • Sunday: 10 am Break – Occasional rehearsal in music room
  • Sunday: 11:15 am Discovery Service*

Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.

Youth & Children

We offer a fun, faith-based choral music education program, with an emphasis on the development of life-long skills and belonging to a diverse community. It’s a great way for children to explore their artistic abilities and discover the joys of teamwork and leadership.
