About Our Program
Our curriculum promotes learning in a fun and engaging environment faithful to traditional Christian values. The boundaries of learning for each child are extended by encouraging the natural eagerness of every child to understand the world around them. Students are encouraged to explore and learn in a supportive and stimulating environment. Teachers and administrators work as a team to develop a thorough curriculum which encourages social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development to ensure the growth of the whole child.
It is our hope that each child’s experience at CCK will enrich and nurture their unique gifts and talents to launch a lifetime love of learning. Our incredible CCK staff is committed to ensuring each child is well cared for and immersed in a learning environment that is enriched with love and excitement. Our school-wide goals for each age group are to:
- Promote Christian values by encouraging sharing, confidence, independence, and kindness
- Surround children in a happy, loving and nurturing learning environment
- Promote self-help/independent behaviors
- Promote social/emotional and language development
- Promote cognitive development
- Promote physical development
Social, Emotional, and Language Development
Cognitive Development
By introducing age-appropriate cognitive activities in classrooms, our students thinking and reasoning skills are continually challenged and encouraged through positive learning experiences. At CCK we seek to meet each child’s cognitive needs as they are developmentally ready. We use a variety of teaching strategies that involve learning through play and direct-instruction to meet the needs of each student as an individual.
Physical Development
Encouraging the physical health and wellbeing of each child is an important part of our program. Our program encourages physical development thorough fine and gross motor activities. Fine motor growth is encouraged through finger-plays, art projects, games, and age-appropriate manipulatives. Gross motor development is encouraged through outdoor recess time, Creative Movement/My Gym classes, yoga, and music and movement opportunities.
Each classroom offers age-appropriate opportunities to develop fine and gross motor skills, coordination, and mobility.
