Current Needs in Our Community

In a season when many families are feeling the strain, the call to support our neighbors feels more urgent than ever. Find ways you can help below.

Winter Essentials Drive for Shamrock Gardens: We invite you to donate gently used winter essentials for our neighbors at Shamrock Gardens. Bring your donation items to the bin in the Rotunda by December 15. These items are needed in all sizes:

  • Coats
  • Seasonally appropriate shoes
  • Socks (new)
  • Gloves or mittens
  • Hats

ourBRIDGE for Kids: Help our vital community partner support the immigrant and refugee families they serve access emergency food and hygiene supplies.

Safe to Work, Safe to School: Join a group of concerned congregations and faith leaders for an ICE Watch training by Siembra NC. ICE Watch patrol volunteers help immigrants get to school and work safely, and observe federal law enforcement activities to guard against violations of the 1st, 4th, and 5th amendments.

Lydia’s Pantry: Shop Galilee Ministries of East Charlotte’s Amazon Wish List to deliver needed items directly to the center or bring items to the donation bin in the Rotunda.

Galilee Winter Coat & Clothing Drive: From November 10 to December 10, Galilee is collecting new or gently used, clean winter coats and accessories for men, women, and children. Drop off at 3601 Central Avenue, Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Matthew 25 Casseroles: Bake and/or deliver casseroles once a month for the Salvation Army, Men’s Shelter, Charlotte Rescue Mission, and Roof Above.

Men’s Shelter Dinners: Prepare and serve dinner for our neighbors experiencing homelessness at the Men’s Shelter every 3rd Sunday and 4th Thursday of the month.

Room in the Inn: Every Sunday, December through March, Christ Church (along with over 100 other churches and organizations) provides emergency winter shelter for 12 unsheltered neighbors. Parishioners offer hospitality to those who have no place to call home. This is a great volunteer opportunity for families, especially those with young children.
