Parenting and the Empty Nest

When one’s house empties after their child leaves for college or boarding school, parents enter a new chapter in their parenting journey. This two-session class will offer insight, tools, and support for navigating this significant life transition. Whether a single parent or part of a parenting team, all parents are welcome. Participants will explore the opportunities which this time presents to redefine one’s role, foster healthy communication with one’s teen/ college student, and experience the empty nest as a time for meaning and growth.

Led by Alex Bacon, LCSW—therapist and wellbeing educator with the Center for Wellbeing & Care—each class will begin with a shared dinner, followed by guided discussion and reflection.

Wednesdays, September 17 & October 15 (Green Room). Participation in both sessions is encouraged but not required. The second session will build on the first.

Registration (required) includes dinner ($12) provided by Chef Andrea.
