Parenting and the Empty Nest

When one’s house empties after their child leaves for college or boarding school, parents enter a new chapter in their parenting journey. This three-session class will offer insight, tools, and support for navigating this significant life transition. Whether a single parent or part of a parenting team, all parents are welcome. Participants will explore the opportunities which this time presents to redefine one’s role, foster healthy communication with one’s teen/ college student, and experience the empty nest as a time for meaning and growth.

Led by Alex Bacon, LCSW—therapist and wellbeing educator with the Center for Wellbeing & Care—each class will begin with a shared dinner, followed by guided discussion and reflection.

Wednesdays, September 17, October 15 (Green Room), and November 12 (M207). (Participation in all three sessions is encouraged but not required).

Registration (required) includes dinner ($12) provided by Chef Andrea.
