Amanda is a lifelong Episcopalian and has been a member of Christ Church since 1981. She and her husband, Bob, have two adult children, Will Anders and Brantley Templeton. Brantley, her husband, Ryan, and their four boys live in Charlotte, and are also members of Christ Church. Will and his wife, Lydia, and their two children live in Raleigh.

Amanda has served in a wide variety of roles at Christ Church. She is currently facilitating two Bible study classes. She has previously served on the Vestry, one year as Junior Warden; she graduated from EFM and later served as a co-facilitator for an EFM group; she served on the Spiritual Growth Commission, helping author the Christian Essentials curriculum; she served on the Rama Road Commission, and as a member of the New Rector Search Committee (that brought Chip to Christ Church.) She has a deep and abiding love for the church, and it is indeed her spiritual home.
