J.D. Ey grew up at Christ Church Charlotte and has been a formative journey marked by faith, community, and service. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Church,  embarked on pilgrimage experiences, participated in mission trips, and served as an acolyte as an active participant in the youth group. J.D. has continued to offer his gifts to the Christ Church community since moving back to Charlotte in 2020, serving as a leader of the High School Youth Council and High School Life Group and representing Christ  Church as a delegate to the Diocesan Convention. Additionally, he has had the honor of guiding those exploring their faith as a Confirmation Class leader. J.D. graduated from Washington and Lee University, and coached basketball there and later at Amherst College. He is currently a Director at Crosslake Technologies. His wife, Kalli, shares a deep commitment to faith and education as a teacher at Trinity Episcopal School. Their son Johnny was born in 2024.
