Jose R. Costa has been an active member of Christ Episcopal Church since 2013, when he and his wife, Cindy, moved to Charlotte. Together, they have grown their family and their faith at Christ Church, learning and leading together in a shared commitment to faith, service and community along with their three children, Loren (13), Vera Rose (10), and Nico (8). In partnership with his faith community, Jose is deeply dedicated to helping the local Charlotte area. He has collaborated with multiple nonprofits in the region, focusing on initiatives to combat homelessness, improve public education, support children, and empower immigrant families. His efforts have aided programs that provide shelter, educational resources, and mentorship, fostering hope and opportunity for underserved populations. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Jose migrated to the U.S. and began
his career as a marketing executive with Yum! Brands and later with Burger King. His experience working with 3G Capital helped him define his expertise in creating corporate value and leading large, multi-unit retail organizations for several private equity portfolio companies, including Driven Brands, GrandVision, and Bojangles. He currently serves as CEO for Whistle Express, a 150+ location car wash company with operations across the southeast. Jose holds Master’s degrees from Northwestern University and the University of Chicago and serves on the board of Lightbridge Academy.
